DISPLAYABLE vinyl of the week.
As promised, this week’s album was part of our haul from Howl & Moan Records and came HIGHLY recommended. The debut album by local artists Liminal, Place LP is a psych-rock masterpiece. The fact that this is their first offering blew my mind. Based in Lismore, the band formed in 2020 while still in high school. This album was recorded in their home studio and released in late 2021, a heady mix of “70's sitar music, 80's VHS nostalgia, and heavy psych rock”. The band currently consists of River Glass on vocals and guitar, Oscar Myles on guitar and synth, Tom Peter on bass, and Alako Myles on drums. New singles ‘Etterath’ and ‘Sand Dream’ recently featured on RAGE and you can find them on Triple J Unearthed as well. Their talent is obvious, and the way they take so many influences and meld them into their own unique sound is impressive. Go check ‘em out and spread the word, these guys rock!!
